What is Dragon Ball Kai? Well it is intended to be a "remake" of Dragon Ball Z. Featuring remastered animations, sounds, music, etc. The reason Akira Toriyama has decided to remake the classic (besides more money), is so that it mirrors his original manga more closely. The original DBZ series was created WHILE Akira was in the midst of writing DBZ. Thus the series constantly had to wait for the comic, and instead filled the series with lots of filler episodes. DBKai promises to be alot faster paced, and should span only about 100 Episodes, compared to DBZ which was 291 episodes. This is the page that will be updated with multimedia and information alike regarding Dragon Ball Kai. The first episode just aired on April 5th (Akira Toriyama's birthday). Personal Thoughts: I absolutely loved the intro! The animation was brand spanking new, darker shades, and more vibrant than ever! This immediately set high expectations for the show. However, upon watching the actual episode, to my dismay, it was just the original series, remastered with some alterations. I guess the costs of totally remaking the show would be just too high. In any case, it will still be interesting to see some of the changes and relive the entire series again! Go Dragon Ball Z! .. rather.. Dragon Ball Kai now! =)
